Our History
2018
From Corporate to Crunch
In 2018, Brad and Katie traded their corporate careers for an entrepreneurial leap of faith. They cashed in their 401(k)s, left Chicago for Michigan, sold their car, and purchased a Ford Transit van, the first “company vehicle” for what would become Chunk Nibbles. Production began in a shared hourly kitchen late into the night, with sales happening at local farmers markets and door-to-door to grocery stores. By year’s end, they landed their first major local retail partner, Busch’s.
2019
First Flavors, First Distributor
The following year marked a new level of growth. Chunk Nibbles moved into its first official leased kitchen and hired its first paid employee, while friends and family continued to lend their support. Two new flavors- S’mores and Peanut Butter Chocolate joined the lineup, packaging was upgraded to digitally printed bags, and the brand partnered with its first distributor.
2020
Pivoting Through the Pandemic
When the pandemic disrupted supply chains and their distributor dropped them, Chunk Nibbles pivoted quickly. The team shifted focus to direct-to-consumer sales, supplying companies with snack packages for remote employees. This adaptability kept the business going through uncertain times and led to the launch of a new 2 oz snack pack size.
2021
Big Break on Live TV
Momentum picked back up when Chunk Nibbles won QVC/HSN’s “Big Ticket Find” competition, selling directly from their home kitchen on live television. The flavor portfolio expanded again with the addition of Strawberry and the brand’s first seasonal flavor, Peppermint.
2022
Scaling Up with Machines & Milestones
In 2022, hand-packing became a thing of the past with the purchase of their first packaging machine. Chunk Nibbles secured another major multi-state retail partner, made its debut at the Sweets & Snacks Expo as a category finalist for the Vanilla flavor, and added another distribution partner. The year also saw the launch of the Apple Cinnamon flavor, a team of nine employees, and placement in 1,000 retail locations.
2023
National Recognition & Rapid Growth
Expansion continued with a move into a 14,000 sq. ft. facility and growth to more than 3,000 retail locations. The company’s Apple Cinnamon flavor won Sweets & Snacks Best in Show, and Chunk Nibbles earned recognition as one of Michigan’s Top 50 Companies to Watch. They also claimed the title of Michigan’s Favorite Snack. By the end of the year, the team had grown to 11 employees.
2024
TikTok Fame & Toffee Launch
The brand saw a surge in attention after going viral on TikTok. A new flavor, Toffee, hit the shelves, while co-founder Brad was named to Hour Media x DBusiness’s “30 in Their 30s to Know.” With new distribution partners, Chunk Nibbles expanded into 4,000 retail locations nationwide.
2025
5,000 Stores Strong
Chunk Nibbles kicked off 2025 by growing its team even further and winning its category at Sweets & Snacks for the Toffee flavor. Retail presence reached 5,000 locations across the country, cementing the brand’s place in the national snack market.

A Family Legacy,
One Chunk at a Time
A Family Recipe that’s Worth Sharing
Chunk Nibbles began with one unforgettable holiday recipe passed down from Brad’s grandmother, Cuddy. What started as a seasonal tradition quickly turned into something worth sharing year-round. Today, Brad and Katie Cocklin continue that legacy—bringing homemade flavor to homes across the country.
Made with Love, One Chunk at a Time
From Cuddy’s kitchen to your snack drawer, every bite of Chunk Nibbles is filled with flavor, nostalgia, and a sprinkle of magic. Still made in small batches in Michigan, our clusters are crafted with care—just like Grandma would’ve made them.
